NFSDrew @ Formula D - The Ride Along
Comments ( 2 )

While down at Formula D - Breaking Point I got the opportunity to sit in the passenger seat of the NOS Energy Drink Nissan 350z with Chris Forsberg at the wheel.

Of course I took the opportunity!  Being able to seat in the 350z's passenger seat while going sideways at 75MPH is something that I was really excited to do.  We had planned to do the ride along during the practice and qualifying runs but near the end of the day I wasn't sure that I would be able to get in for a run.

Fortunately, there was time near the end of the day and I got to jump in the passengers seat for a practice run.  With Chris Forsberg at the drivers seat, we set up to do a practice run in tandem with JR (Vaughn Gittin Jr.) and his 2010 Faklen Tire Ford Racing Mustang.

Well, no more talk...check out the video of the ride along.  Both first person and third person views:

The ride along was awesome! It was so much fun.  One of the things I noticed during the ride was that it was a lot smoother than I thought it was going to be.  Of course you felt the g-forces and all but it wasn't nearly as violent as I thought it was going to be.  After the ride along, I was all smiles for the rest of the night.

You'll notice that at one point during the run, Chris looks over and says "I think we broke something".  Indeed we did break something, In fact, one of the car's axles broke at the end of the first turn.  Regardless, it was good times and I want to thank Chris, Blair and the rest of the NOS Energy Drink racing team for giving me the opportunity to ride along in the 350z.  It was definitely an experience that I'll remember forever.
