A personal look at the world of Need for Speed from the team behind the games
I call it Minty Fresh!
Comments (3)

Last week I finally progressed far enough in my Need for Speed SHIFT career to unlock all the stock cars in the game.  At that point I was sitting on a load of in-game cash too so I decided to try out a bunch of cars to see which one was the best in terms of speed, acceleration, handling and all that.  I tried the Subaru, the GTR and a bunch of different cars but in the end, I went with Lamborghini Murciélago LP640 with the Works conversion.  Here is a shot of my Lamborghini in action:

This car is absolutely ridiculous!  It's accelerates so fast, has great top speed and handles like it's on rails.  To give you an idea of this car's capability, let me share one of the first races I used Minty Fresh in.  it was during last week's Friday afternoon "Game with Drew" sessions.  We had a full lobby (8 player race) and had been racing with a 14.00 car restriction on for a bunch of races.  Everyone was ready for some faster cars.  So we convinced the lobby leader, who at the time was EA Torque, to make the race unrestricted in terms of car restrictions.  So I finally got the chance to break out my Minty Fresh Lamborghini and Torque chose Laguna Seca as the track.  When we loaded into game play I found myself in the 8th starting position because I had won the previous race.  Well, I got a perfect start and quickly found myself in 1st place.  I had passed everyone, all with clean passes, before the first turn!

Here are the specs of my Lamborghini Murciélago LP640 with the Works conversion:

Make & Model: Lamborghini Murciélago LP640
Miles driven: 179.8
BHP: 631.0
Torque: 631.0
0-60: 3.1
0-100: 6.6
60-0: 3.1
Top Speed reached: 211.3 MPH / 340.1 KPH

Gives you an idea of this car's performance and to be honest, I'm not sure when or how I got that top speed reached.

The reason why I call my Lamborghini "Minty Fresh" is because I'm a huge fan of Busta Rhymes.  I know that it sounds weird but bare with me.  Like I said, huge fan of Busta Rhymes and a bunch of years ago I remember watching an episode of Cribs or Pimp My Ride or something like that and the episode featured Busta Rhymes.  I didn't catch the entire episode but I did catch the segment where Busta showed off some of his cars.  One of the cars he owned was a Lamborghini and it was painted mint green.  At that point in the show, he looked at the camera and says "I call it Minty Fresh!".  Wicked!  It was a sick car!

So when I got my Lamborghini in SHIFT, I used iridescent paint with the primary color of mint green and the secondary color being orange.  Basically tried to replicate his car.

So that's why I call it "Minty Fresh".

Here are a couple more shots from SHIFT via photo mode:

That is the best car in the game but one of the new Ferraris can beat it. Also once u fully upgrade the corrvette it can also best the lambo in performance.

Once you get the Lambo works converted, others wont be able to even touch you- you'll be leaving a 'Minty Fresh' vapour trail!
