Driver Profile

Abdulaziz T. Al Faisal (ATF) started racing in 2005 in Formula BMW initially with the aim to grow in single seaters. More recently, his ambitions have switched into GT racing with the various championships in the Middle East and Europe.

It’s easy to explain what motivates ATF’s commitment to motor sports:  he pursues motorsports for the sake of motorsports. What counts for ATF are challenge, performance, and competition. Fun is also a big factor, which in the ATF philosophy is accompanied by risk and the desire to excel.

His collaboration with Schubert Motorsport goes back to 2008 with the very first Dubai 24hrs with a category win. In 2010, ATF has won the very first Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Middle East, with 9 wins and 3 podium finishes.

2011 has been a very challenging year: in Dubai 24hr, ATF drove for the Saudi Falcons in a Porsche 911 GT3 cup and finishes 6th after being in the top 3 most of the race.

In the GT3 Cup Challenge Middle East, the defending champion lost the title with only 4 points to the winner yet scoring the fastest laps and pole positions.

For the FIA GT3 European Championship, ATF joined Team Need for Speed Schubert Motorsport to drive alongside Edward Sandström. The 2 drivers have got along very well scoring a debut win in the first race of the season in Portugal.

Also on the schedule for 2011 is the Lemans 24hrs and the Porsche World cup at the Nurburgring this summer. ATF will also prepare for the 2011-2012 Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Middle supporting the Abu Dhabi Formula 1 Race in November.
