Here it is, easily the best-known racecar ever produced by Ford, the GT40, a car so loved that it inspired a recreation, known as the GT, 40 years after its creation. The GT was famed for its outstanding performance on the track, with its most notable accomplishment being four straight victories at the 24 Hours Le Mans from 1966-69, and to this day, it remains the only car built by an American manufacturer to win the race.
