At the apex of the muscle car era, Pontiac was one of the big dogs. With its high-performance ponycars, including the GTO and Firebird/Trans-Am, these sterling examples of Detroit muscle were tough to top for the money. Legendary Pontiac ad-man Jim Wangers, who owns several classics, has decided to sell off some of his collection. As a huge fan of the brand -- my family owned two Firebirds and my first non-four-cylinder was a Grand Am GT -- it's heartening to see that someone else has taken such great care of those performance legends. Dibs on the '69 Trans Am.

edit: The only thing I'm nervous about is fuel economy with these cars, since this will be my first. I'm not sure if i should just buy my moms 97 Toyota Corolla first.

That is a beauty, personally i have my eye on a classic Iroc Camaro myself. There's one being sold locally for $6,000 but i don't have the money yet. I recently became a fan of American Muscle and i hope to be the first of my family to own one. I really hope the Iroc will be in NFS World at some point.
