Well, the Muscle Car Customization Competition is now over, with Hottrockin taking home the crown, but that doesn't mean the fun has to end.

I recieved an amazing number of entries for this contest, so rather than letting these cars hang in e-mail purgatory, I'm going to share some of my faves with the community.

The first car above was sent in by one of the best racers I've had the pleasure of facing online, Felipe. He modeled this Corvette Sting Ray after the Starship Enterprise and did a fantastic job.

If I have one critique about his design, a portrait of William Shatner spread across the hood would have been preferred to the standard paintjob.

I'm not a tough guy to please when it comes to car design: I'd much rather see a smooth, clean look than something cluttered with unnecessary vinyls, which is why I love this Challenger, which came to us from Australia.

Of all the GT500s I received - and there were many, particularly after I put the call out for a bit more representation from Shelby - this one was my favorite.

There are vinyls here, but they match up nicely with the paint, creating a nice, uniform feel, and matching the two-tone exterior with black wheels and red calipers was a nice touch.

Speaking of NFS-themed cars, this one hits home, with our Facebook pal Adnan creating his own homage to Hot Lap czar NFS Mike. Nice job of getting pretty close to the 'Daytona' model, which was only offered in 1969.

Uncle Sam would be proud of this patriotic Charger, decked out in the stars and stripes as well as a full roll cage for racing purposes, it's a winner both on and off the track.

I'd be remiss if I didn't include this festive 'candy cane' Challenger in this package - it's just so cool. Big chrome wheels, side-exit exhaust and a ram air hood make this Challenger a challenge to ignore.

I really respect the effort that goes into making these cars a work of personal art, so thanks to everyone for your submissions. I'll have a second 'best of' article posted in the next few days.
