So it’s Tuesday, and that means another NFS Hot Lap challenge. We have announced our winners for the past week, so be sure to check them out!

There is a slight change to the NFS Hot Lap this week. There are the same rules: use the same car and track, and make sure that the lap time is fully readable. There is a new rule though: a FULL lap must be recorded and posted. Please do not cut and paste the video up, just post it as it is presented in the game :) It can still be a replay, but just make sure that the full lap is shown in the video.

We are constantly looking at ways to keep the NFS Hot Lap fair and fun, so we’ll keep tweaking it if it means that the challenges get better with each addition :)

Okay, onwards to what you’re all wanting to know – what car and track were chosen for this week! Without further adieu, here they are:

Car: Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren 722 Edition
Track: Spa GP

The car was picked by Week 5’s winner of the fastest lap time, joewillburnsa, while the track was chosen by Week 5’s winner of the most viewed video, LIEUTANG. Congratulations again, guys, and good luck in this week’s competition :)

The rules again:
Make sure to use the same car and track, keep it to one lap per video, make sure the FULL LAP is recorded, and however you choose to record it, make sure your final time is clearly readable. Post it to your YouTube account and submit it as a response to our Week 7 video (embedded below). And, there’s no limit to the number of video responses you can post, so if you see your best time beaten by someone else, get back in and record a better one. And to make your video easier to track, please remember to tag it with NFS and put a link to needforspeed.com in the video’s description.

As always, if you have any questions, please drop me a line at michael@needforspeed.com and I can help you out.

By the way - the video we did was to show everyone that FRAPS isn't necessarily needed to enter the contest!

Here’s my video!

Well, isn't there a build in replay recorder or something in NFS: SHIFT or something, because I've noticed that there is a file called "replaycache.rep" right there in my "C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\Need for Speed SHIFT" folder. Is this actually used or is there a way to record the lap without an EXTRA video camera (which requires re-encoding like FRAPS also).

@mrmarshal: It's not like you can upgrade an SLR Mclaren anyway; it's tier 4 =P

And, as always, thanks, Joe =P
