Here we are on Friday, May 13. It's time for the Need for Speed Week in Review.

It was a huge week for SHIFT 2 UNLEASHED, with the announcement of the Speedhunters downloadable content pack, which will be available on Xbox 360 and - hopefully - PlayStation 3 on May 17 for 800 Microsoft Points or $9.99. The fastest racing game around gets even faster with two exciting new racing modes, Standing Mile and Drag, 14 cars - with 12 specificially tuned by the leaders in car culture at Speedhunters - 3 new racing areas and 6 new achievements and trophies. The Legends Pack DLC is also currently available, so check that out as well.

Also in SHIFT 2, we have the Dr Pepper Hot Lap and Photo Mode competitions still going on, so post a video response to NFSDrew's Hot Lap time, and send your photos of the Dr Pepper Chevrolet Camaro SS to #SHIFT2DrPepper for a chance to win prizes.

The IE9 Fastest Wins Sweepstakes is tearing up the tarmac until May 15, so get your entries in before the deadline or prepare for disappointment. An Xbox 360 signed by the Need for Speed development team, 25 EA games for a year, and a Logitech racing wheel are up for grabs.

One last - but certainly not least - SHIFT 2 item is NFSCoulter's new 'Track Tips' video blog, where he goes into great detail to explain how to shave valuable seconds off your times in-game. He starts this week with Glendale East, which is the track you'll be tackling in the Dr Pepper Camaro for the third edition of the Hot Lap mentioned above. We want to hear what you think about these posts, so please leave a comment.

This week in Need for Speed World, we had a chance to catch up with producer Marc De Vellis for the 35th edition of Ask Marc

Also, we did a World maintenance window on Tuesday, with one major development being the Dodge Viper as the newest SpeedBoost top-up car.

Recently, we partnered with EA Mobile on Facebook to give away a BlackBerry PlayBook loaded with Need for Speed games, so be sure to enter that competition on the EA Mobile Facebook page

It was a big week for Team Need for Speed, with Matt Powers and Fredric Aasbo both making the top 16 in Formula Drift Round 2 at Road Atlanta. Larry Chen was at the track and had lots of shots from the event on our Facebook page, as well as an informative recap.

In the 2011 FIA GT3 opener in Algarve, Portugal, Team Need for Speed emerged victorious in round one, taking both the first and second slots in the gorgeous Team NFS BMW Z4 GT3. Lots of outstanding photos from the event are here.

What better way to wrap up the week in review with the 79th edition of the Need for Speed Podcast, which is now available on iTunes, our RSS feed, and streaming in the player below. This week, Drew, Greg, Coulter, and Kirk tackle the Speedhunters DLC for SHIFT 2, a little nugget about Need for Speed The Run, as well as all the news on World, Team Need for Speed, and the off-topic topic. Have an outstanding weekend!

What a week indeed! EA amazingly ignored pleas from their PC customers and refused to even give a status report.
I guess they are just too busy writing glowing reviews about themselves

They present their cars in Shift 2 soooooo nice and fast and wild..... but as always, they make in video, what they can't make in game!!! CARS FOR PLEASURE AND SPEED! We gave enough here for boost, now they want from us to pay to buy a console AND their titles too?....... Do they think we got a bank behind us all the time? EA.....u have screwed EVERYTHIN the last years......and i used to be NFS fan for years, but not anymore,i lost my faith in u.. never expected to see this company pretending that u do good work for money only.....so humiliating for u......so dissapointing for us!

When is the Legends Pack DLC and the SpeedHunter Pack DLC is going to come out for PC?!
WE WANT PC PC PC PC PC PC PC PC PC PC PC!!!!!
Please reply NFSDrew!!!

we don't want console because it is crap, we need PC because it give us the most realistic gameplay compared to the console, so other users of console don't start telling us to buy a console(try PC your self and I bet you will never want to change back to console) because we don't want to buy the xbox and ps3, they suck compared to the PC!!!

Thanks Karamba8

Spy3501

Everythin for SHIFT 2 i see and as i have said......barely 2 lines for NFS World... and really this is ridiculous, the fact that u place photos in week announcements with WOW cars ...and especially Viper........WHILE U HAVE MADE THEM IN SUCH WAY THAT THEY MOVE LIKE TRUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'd like to write more.... but i got tired with your mazohism team of failure, do whatever u want ...but u will fall down to zero someday where u had been 10 years ago... and i hope this day will come soon...your only fans will remain a bunch of kids who THINK they know but they have complete ignorance in life and games too....

EA, is this how you treat the one platform that can actually MAKE games?

Remember, The Need for Speed series was BORN on the PC, shall LIVE on the PC and will DIE on the PC. I am personally a great fan of the NFS series, and I can tell that the developer team is proud of their games. So how do they keep the tradition alive? They don't. They are switching the main platform from PC to Consoles.

Maybe there's a reason for the games' PC version downfall. You may think that, because of torrents, we are stealing entire games. You're wrong. We still purchase games because of almost half of the games content locked away - including multiplayer, which you all know that it requires an unique CD key tied to the EA Account.

So please EA, listen to your fans and bring DLCs and Updates for the PC as well. At this rate, The NFS PC gamers will completely ignore the upcoming "The Run" with this thought: "Well, after we finish the career and do what has to be done in multiplayer, what's the point of playing this game from now on?". Is this the future NFS deserves?

My answer is: NO. Need for Speed is quite possibly the best racing franchise ever.

Once again EA, keep Need for Speed alive and bring one or two updates for other NFS games as well.

Why cant you guys give us an update when we will receive DLC for PC.

You said "Please stay tuned we have not forgot our PC community"

Its been a while since you have said that and you have still not even released the Legends DLC.

Now there is a second DLC that contains awesome cars and Drag but we PC players are still left out to rot.

At least let us know in future podcast when we PC players will receive the Legends and the Speed hunters DLC. Please release it. I and other PC players are willing to pay. Make the DLC available on EA Download Manager or Steam. We PC players hate to be left with half a game while consoles get all the content. Need For Speed was originally for the PC and now we are left to rot!

Come on EA. Release all this DLC to the PC community.

And NFSDrew. Please make a comment on this in future podcast's or on the forums. Because you know what EA and SMS are doing to PC players is wrong.
