Friday night "Guy Night". Some of you know what I'm talking about. A weekly ritual where you and your friends get together, hang out and have a good time. As a teenager, growing up, my best buds and I would more often than not spend our Friday night's huddled around a TV playing on my N64. The game of choice? WCW vs NWO followed by WWE No Mercy. Epic battles were had and quite a few controllers were thrown. Good times.
Fast forward several years and the ritual of getting together on Friday nights continue. Some of us are married, have kids, etc., but we make the effort of meeting up for dinner and drinks on a regular basis. Recently, however, we got together at my friend Mika's apartment for a "gaming" night. You see, Mika is a big fan of racing simulations. All these years that I've worked on NFS, he's been patiently waiting for us to make a game he could enjoy. He's not your typical gamer. His focus is quite limited. Hardcore realistic racing and that's about it.
A while back, he decided to get a PS3 and GT5 Prologue. Not a bad choice for someone that loves sims. However, to REALLY get the simulation experience, he ordered a Logitech G25 racing wheel and a Rinoseat G25 Edition racing chair.
He's that commited.
Figuring GT5 Prologue would hold him over until GT5 came out seemed like the right idea, but alas, GT5 is nowhere in sight. As an alternative, I told him about NFS Shift that was about to be released. I told him it might just do the trick to satisfy his racing needs.
So I picked the game up for him and after giving him some time to try the game out, we all went over to check out what it felt like to drive Shift in his fancy set up. Surprisingly, he's not a big fan of the cockpit view, but needless to say this setup makes you feel that much closer to the asphalt. Here's a link to his blog where you can read his review of NFS Shift as well as see some more pictures and video of his sweet ride.
Since then, I've come across some other unique ways to play NFS: Shift. Check them out!! They're awesome!
And here's some illegal street racing of a different kind.
Which version do you like best? Playing Shift in the comfort of your home or as you hang from the side of a building?
Cheers!

Wow, that's a pro racing setup ;o .
It would be more fun if I use some building as a screen. I love showing off,and that's probably the best way people to see me.
