We've got a lot of stuff about Need for Speed Hot Pursuit coming this week, and one of the biggest was the revealing of a portion of our car list. We've got plenty more to come, but today's cars are nothing to sneeze at. Each car deserves sole attention, so here's the first NFSHP car of the day: the Bugatti Veyron 16.4.

Named for French racecar driver Pierre Veyron, who won the 1939 24 Hours Le Mans while behind the wheel of a Bugatti Type 57, the Veyron 16.4 was recently named 'Car of the Decade' by British motoring show Top Gear. High praise, indeed.

Be aware, all, that the guys who named this the Car of The Decade were three middle-aged, mildly-weird, Morris-Marina-hating, overly-biased brits, one of whom is obsessed with power, another who is obsessed with squashed Volkswagen Beetles and tooth-whitening, and the last who is obsessed with sanity and the War. Don't be fooled, though; this is one of the best television shows I have ever seen.

Truth-in-sarcasm aside, I can't disagree with their belief that this is a really great car, but what if this decade included 2010? The Ferrari 458 seems to steal a lot more attention these days. Not to mention, the Veyron is slower than plenty of other cars, according to Nurburgring lap times and Top Gear test track lap times.
