F1 coming back to Canada!

Canadian fans of Formula One racing rejoice! The Canadian Grand Prix is back for the 2010 F1 season as the circuit and promoter came to an agreement on a five-race contract which runs through 2014 in Montreal.

 

The event was cancelled for 2009 after promoters and F1 boss Bernie Eccelstone couldn't agree on a price to stage the race at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve.

 

Renault driver Robert Kubica took the checkered flag driving for BMW Sauber in 2008, his first and to date only victory as an F1 driver. Michael Schumacher holds the record with seven career victories in Montreal.

 

In total, the deal is worth about $75 million (CDN), divided up between the Canadian federal government, Quebec provincial government, and city of Montreal and could bring upwards of $80 million to the city during the course of the event, which always attracts sell-out crowds and an impressive television audience across the globe.

This isn't for USF1, but the standard international which is much cooler. :) And it'd be great to see Jacques race this track again, if only to see him wipe out on the Wall of Champions.

For USF1? :) Unfortunately, Jacques in Montreal did not conducted a successful races... It would be great if Jacques came back in to Formula-1. He is a true champion.

I couldn't agree more - hopefully Jacques Villeneuve gets a ride for the upcoming season and triumphantly returns to his hometown victorious, or is that asking too much?
