Today's car of the day is the Nissan Skyline GT-R R34, a favorite of tuners and Japanese performance enthusiasts alike, this GT-R is an absolute thrill to drive.

Due to a gentlemen's handshake agreement between Japanese automakers, the GT-R R34 is very conservatively rated at 280 horsepower, but don't think for a minute there isn't 300 ponies pulling this beast.

With a six-speed Getrag transmission, burning through the gears in the R34 is a blast. It handles like a dream, cutting razor-sharp edges around even the toughest corners.

As a gray import vehicle, many North Americans have been importing the Skyline across the Pacific, despite its right-hand drive configuration. It's not uncommon in many cities to spot one each day.
