Ask Marc - Episode 17 Part 1

I have been a need for speed fan for years. I fell in love with it when it was on the playstation. one thing i was really excited for was need for speed shift. I would love to see NFS world gear twords racing. I found a game on the internet befor it was shut down due to really bad marketing, Project Torque. It was a really addicting online MMO racer with surprisingly high detail. I would LOVE to see nfs go in the direction they did were the tuning of your car could win you the race not your level. I live the leveling system i think its just a little too strong.

The idea of tuning was pretty good in underground 2 where you could tune the areo the gears and all of the basic tuning ideas. if that were implemented in the game with the aftermarket kits or even the option to choose form a handful of bumpers side skirts hoods and wings/spoilers. I think that those things would really make the game pop.

I read in an earlyer post about the weather and lighting effects being missing. Adding these would really immerse the players in the world of NFS. as retarded as it sounds taking a cue form world of warcraft wouldn't be a bad idea either. Right now the NFS world is more of an animosity drivin racing collection. Players have no real need to talk to each other nothing that they can share. Maybe come up with some skills or a trade system. some players can make graphics and sell them to other players. some players can sell autosculpt rims or body kits. maybe even drop the reward cards out of boost and have players able to sell them to each other. MMOs like EVE online and World of Warcraft are so successful because they require players to rely on other players skills. If something like that was placed into NFS world I believe that it would take it from obscenity filled chat rooms to people asking for help of other players. instead of **** you or STFU noob you would see more chats like LF Nitrous card or WTS nissan silvia s-15 falkin drift design pm for details.

All of this may sound obscene or off base of what NFS world wants to be but i love NFS and racing games in general and i want to see it thrive my team Dark Storm Racing may only have 6 members in it but we are always trying to find exploits to report, bugs to fix, and brain storming on how to make the game better. Most of the things mentioned above are not just my thoughts but the thoughts of the people I talked to in the world.

This game is released too early with an starterpack thats unbelievable unfair and only to gain money. I want a choice of turbo's, mufflers, spoilers, rims etc..... skillpoint system for fast acceleration or topspeed better steering etc.. to make an balanced game. and dont have to ram eachother at the start to be the first one. Hi everybody! This game, as you can see, is falling apart, and lot of people is getting bored.
We gotta do something to keep the... "fire alive", and i've got an idea:

Instead of just waiting for EA's improvements, let's use what we have.

What do you think about a self-organized (by all of us) Car look contest?
We have a cool vinyl system... let's use it :D

Here is my idea:
Who wants to partecipate, can set up his car and create a cool vinyl.
Then, you can take a few shots of your car (in the meeting place, but i suggest to use the keyboard "print" button from safehouse: there is no sun reflection, and everything is clear to see) and upload it on a free photo host site of your choise (let's say... imageshack for example).

At the end of the "contest" (a few days, or a week or whatever we all decide), we can find us togheter and vote for the better-looking car (everyone can express one vote, but can't vote his own car of course).
The winner, will be rewarded by a lot of popularity, and glory :D
Also, if we want, we can also decide to give him a ... "indirect cash reward", by deciding to let the contest winner win in first position all the multiplayer races he enters for one day or more (ore less): so that he can gain a lot of money and rep fast... instead, we will have no real damages: even as 2nd or last, we will still gain exp, cash and reward cards.
A sort of self-made "cash amplifier" for the winner eheh.

That is to me a way to have something to do ingame.
Let's show our passion for NFS and start to create our OWN game: the way WE want it. Before it falls apart.
So that EA will be forced to give us what we want.
We gotta be active.

Since i'm a "non-starter pack user", i've created this with just FREE (level 10) vinyls: with a little of fantasy, even these are more than enough :D everyone can partecipate!

I was also thinking that, if we all want to start this kind of "self- organized and community-based events", we can also create a facebook profile... where we will be able to organize periodic events, upload the winner's photos (cars i mean) and give to the "champs" their own 15 minutes of glory eheh.
We can also use it to "coordinate" ourself in sending to EA our requests via mail (till now, we are spread... if we decide to send, at the same time, the same request, in a high coordinated way/number... they will think twice before disappoint us).

I think that this could be a good idea (and i've also imagined a good way to easily create RACE events as well... i've already created a map of it, but i'll tell you later, if you want).

In case of intrest, you can post here what you think (i apologize for occupying so much free web space).
I also created right now a new mail contact: so if you are intrested you can write to me in private and if the partecipation will be high, i will soon create the facebook page in order to give to all the max of trasparency (and don't waste this post's space).
I'm not doing this for money (i gain nothing from this), but just 'cause i want this game to take a good road... and we can start creating it the way we want.
Oh by the way... i had the idea... but if there is someone that want to came and "administrate" or "co- administrate" this eventual facebook profile, is more than welcome :)

What is the point of these Ask marc vids? Every answer is the same"it's something were lookin at but right now were focusing on new content".If you have no answers then ask questions you have answers to.You just did a 4 minute vid and no one is any wiser from it.

Love the game and i know you are working on improving things but come on ask questions you can answer.

Also you really need to reconsider pausing cop chases.we all have front doors,phones and family......there is no reason not to allow people to pause apart from laziness in not adding this feature.

Costumization? I dont know what this dude @KillerD112007 is talking but i know its the same question but where it comes: When Soundtrack? no1 game is a game without a soundtrack, music when you can say: "well! iam really good but with my soundtrack helping ..." but its a start for they start fix bugs but "time is money", like my grandfather says and no1 wants to wait for a beta game became a Final Release game transformation, because at some days TDU2 will show up the place and will put all the people on him. I Think most of people they stolled their money will bought TDU2, its a good game and with lot of stuff (more than that game ofc).
