Questions about Need for Speed The Run have come flooding in and we’ve gotten some answers. While some of the more specific questions made the development team clam up faster than a threatened mafia witness, they were more than happy to chat about some of the exciting new features Need for Speed The Run is bringing to the table.

So thank you to everyone who sent in questions – including the question “Is it going to be awesome?” (YES!) – here’s what we have for you so far. We’ll be doing everything in our power to make the dev team keep talking, so keep sending your questions in and check back often for more updates.

Why use the Frostbite 2 engine?

One of our goals with Need for Speed The Run was to set the bar for visuals higher than any previous Need for Speed, and working with DICE’s revolutionary Frostbite 2 engine, we’re able to do that. The visual quality in Need for Speed The Run is unmatched among action racing games.

Three games in one year is a lot, what happened to the once-yearly Need for Speed?

Black Box was the company that put Need for Speed on the map, and has been developing Need for Speed The Run for more than two years already. Even though we’re more than six months away from release, we have some groundbreaking gameplay footage to show our fans at E3. Currently, there are three studios working on Need for Speed games, with Black Box and Criterion focusing on action racing experiences, and Slightly Mad Studios working on adrenalin-pumping simulations.

What can we expect from Autolog in Need for Speed The Run?

Autolog is back and better than ever. We’ve found plenty of new ways to encourage friendly – but heated – competition between you and your friends. Autolog is now a staple to the franchise and a feature we’ll continue to grow with each Need for Speed game.

Can you tell me anything about the story?

All we can say at this point about the story is that you’ll be drawn into an illicit, high-stakes race with no speed limits, no allies, and one goal: making it to New York first.

You said this year Need for Speed goes to the next level, what does that mean?

This year, we’re pushing the limits of everything you’ve expected from a Need for Speed game, with a gripping storyline, awe-inspiring visuals, and the most intense racing experience you’ll find anywhere.

How good are the car physics in Need for Speed The Run?

The development team is hard at work to create road-hugging physics that are in line with what you expect from an action racing Need for Speed game.

free ride is need for speed
i always buy need for speed with out asking about the game but actually i was shocked when i opened the game and i did not find the free roam ,it was the worst day ever

we need a free roam pack
the game is too bad without free ride

I personally enjoyed the game play. the graphics like everybody said are amazing. I've not had chance to play online yet but i'm sure that will be great too. however, the game lacks key features. where is the free roam that most of the nfs's have?? where are the great customizations that nfs's are kinda famous for?? where's the split screen?? you should learn from what you have already created, like both underground and most wanted games. i personally think that they were the best nfs's i've ever played, but now you've drifted from what street racing games should be and focused too much on the cars and graphics. i'm not saying its a bad thing cos the detail is amazing in the run and the cars look, sound and react realistically. But you need to bring back the meaning of street racing. being able to modify your car to how you like. split screen. and most of all free roam, its not a nfs game without these key things. bring back the old days when you get challenged on the streets in free roam. combined the modifications from all nfs games and add a little extra. i do like the fact that they've try to add moments when your out the car too that pretty cool but needs more work. overall i'd rate it a 6.5/10 and glad i didn't pay full price for it..

Thanks for your support and feedback! I'll be sure to pass along your suggestions to the Game Team.

Guys, overall the game was decent. That's about all I can give it.The graphics were of-course amazing...I'd expect no less. However, as a few others have pointed out, the game play just wasn't up to NFS standards. The forced races, the ridiculously long load times between events, the absence of a Free Roam mode, split screen play and several other "key features" of the NFS history just made it a mediocre race game and one I am sorry to have purchased at full price. I'll not be so eager to pick up the next NFS title.

I uninstalled my game, and when i tryed to install it again it sad that the cd key was alredy used.
