Need for Speed: Carbon
Following in the footsteps of Most Wanted, Need for Speed Carbon was largely based on the street racing culture of the day, introducing exotic and muscle cars, as well as canyon races. One of the coolest new features in Carbon was AutoSculpt, which molded aftermarket body parts to the driver’s liking, with no two cars being exactly alike.

Released in 2006, Need for Speed: Carbon took customization to the next level with the addition of the AutoSculpt feature that allows players to shape and mold exterior modifications on their vehicles to their liking. Tuning also got a boost, giving racers the opportunity to tune a car for things like better acceleration or top speed. In Carbon, racers now had a wingman, each having specific skills that assist in getting you across the finish line first. Nighttime racing and drifting were both included, returning to the dark backdrop of the city in Underground.Advancing in career mode required racers to take over territory on the map controlled by different gangs. Opponents had their cars decorated in gang colors for races in territories they owned. Finish in first and their roadways become yours. A challenging new racing mode called Canyon Events was introduced in Carbon. There were four different categories, with each involving a race down a winding canyon course. Hit the guard rails and they’ll break, sending your ride off a cliff and into oblivion.Canadian actress and model Emmanuelle Vaugier provided the voice of Nikki, an ally who guides racers along the storyline in career mode.
Cars
Carbon gave a larger role to muscle cars, bringing in several pavement-ripping monsters from the days when cubic inches were cool. This included the 1970 Plymouth Barracuda, 1967 Chevrolet Camaro SS, and 1967 Shelby GT500. Rest assured, sport-compact fans, all your tuner favorites are still there.Alfa Romeo BreraAston Martin DB9Audi Le Mans quattro R8BMW M3 GTRChevrolet Camaro ConceptChevrolet Camaro SSChevrolet Chevelle SSChevrolet Corvette Z06 C6Chrysler 300 SRT8Dodge Challenger ConceptDodge Challenger R/TDodge Charger R/TDodge Charger SRT8Dodge Viper SRT10Ford GTFord Mustang GTShelby GT500Jaguar XKKoenigsegg CCXLamborghini GallardoLamborghini MurciélagoLamborghini Murciélago LP640Lotus Elise 111RMazdaspeed3Mazda RX-7Mazda RX-8Mercedes-Benz SLR McLarenMercedes-Benz CLK500Mercedes-BenzSL65 AMGMitsubishi Eclipse GSX (MID-90S)Mitsubishi Eclipse GTMitsubishi Evolution IX MRNissan 240SXNissan 350ZNissan Skyline GT-R R34Pagani Zonda FPlymouth Hemi ‘CudaPolice Civic Cruiser (CROWN VIC)Police Interceptor (CORVETTE)Police Rhino (JEEP CHEROKEE)Porsche Carrera GTPorsche Cayman SRenault Clio V6Subaru Impreza WRX STiToyota Corolla AE86Toyota Supra Mark IVVauxhall Monaro VXR (PONTIAC GTO)Volkswagen GTI Mark V
Tracks/World
Nighttime racing was back in Need for Speed: Carbon after taking the evening off in Most Wanted. Set five years after Underground 2 in the city of Palmont, the area was originally split into four districts for each rival crew.
