There have been some truly memorable Need for Speed soundtracks over the years and Most Wanted continues that tradition with tracks that ring in your head hours after you have put the controller down.
Whether defying the cops, setting insane records on the Fairhaven City speed cameras or getting ridiculous airtime while destroying billboards, there is always that one track that captures your Need for Speed moment perfectly.
The track which consistently finds itself atop of our collective driving playlist here in the Sydney office is Calvin Harris’ track ‘We’ll be Coming Back’.
There’s something to be said about speeding through a tunnel as the song ascends and bursting out into the sunlight at 300kph just as the bass kicks in. Hearing the echo of the engine dissipate into synth-electro goodness as you weave through traffic at top speed is a moment to savour.
After a quick run through the motor heads in the office, we created a list of our favourite in-game tracks. We also added a couple of tracks not in the game that would fit in perfectly. These are the Most Wanted tracks we race to:
1. Calvin Harris – We’ll be Coming Back
2. Muse – Butterflies and Hurricanes
3. The Who – Baba O’Riley
4. The Black Keys – Lonely Boy
5. Prodigy - Firestarter
