A couple of weeks ago, I woke up in the sleepy little lakeside town of Skreia in Norway. This is home for me, although I've only been here for about 30 days this year.
So where have I been the rest of the year?
Check out the rest of my driver blog from my 2011 race season on Speedhunters.

Formula Drift star Vaughn Gittin Jr. had a collection of Mustangs on-hand for Hot Rod when they came to interview him. Arguably, the favorite is the Team Need for Speed Mustang RTR-X, which is absolutely stunning. It's amazing to see this one-off custom ride finally tearing around the track and use up plenty of tires in the process!
Not only that, but should you want to drive it yourself, both the Mustang RTR and the RTR-X are in Need for Speed The Run. Now turn up the volume and enjoy!

The final stage of the NFS Euro Spokesmodel Seach saw each candidate come to a Team NFS Motorsports event to work with our media, production and racing teams. Thus, we were able to see what each girl was like to collaborate with on site. All in all, the Team Need for Speed media crew photographed ten finalists from Sweden, Norway, Ireland, the UK, France and Germany as part of the process.
The two winners were selected from a vote from the different EA production teams across Europe. They will each receive a Team Need for Speed Spokesmodel contract! The winners were assessed on the following criteria: personality, star quality, professionalism and enthusiasm.
With that, we'd like to congratulate Camille Sebaoui from Versailles, and Julie Dovetta of Marseille! We'll let Speedhunters' Rod Chong sum up the winners.

Rod: The Speedhunters team was talking about Camille even before we met her. The fact that she’s a mechanic and works on cars opens up a huge number of possibilities for us. She has a great personality, wonderful energy, and is very comfortable behind the camera. Most of the shots of her from the FIA GT3 weekend look amazing.

Rod: Julie was an absolutely pleasure to work with at the GT3 event. It was quite hard to take a poor photo of her! We also understand that she is quite the video gamer too.

Team Need for Speed driver, Chris Rado, broke the overall track record at Infineon Raceway. He was piloting the NFS WORLD Racing Unlimited GT Scion tC2. His best time of the weekend was a 1:45.320. The World Racing team was planning on setting a lower time but on the final session they blew a head gasket.
This was the 4th and final round of Global Time Attack 2011 but stay tuned for Chris and the World Racing crew as they build their 2500 horsepower Toyota Supra.

Before we resume our regular programming, we have the final installment of our Team Need for Speed comic series. This time, the focus is on Fredric Aasbo at Formula DRIFT Irwindale.
![]()
Yesterday we released Matt Powers' Comic - illustrated by Josh Awesome - which was done in a French cartoon style. For Fredric Aasbo's comic we called upon fellow Need for Speed The RUN - artist, John Yip.

John consumes a heavy dose of Japanese manga on a daily basis, and this influence has filtered through to his drawing style.

I hope you enjoy reading these comics as much as we enjoyed making them!
Check out the comic on Speedhunters.

For the final round of this year's Formula DRIFT season we wanted to do something out of the ordinary.

Throughout the year our Team Need for Speed drivers have been doing a driver blog after each round, however for Irwindale, we decided on something completely different. A comic book.

There are some amazingly talented artists who work on Need for Speed, such as Josh Awesome who penned this comic on Matt Powers. Although Josh has been working around the clock on our new NFS The RUN game, he managed to get this comic done in his own time.

We have two artists - one for each driver - so you can expect a unique style for both Matt Powers and Fredric Aasbo. Josh decided to go with a French cartoon style, which I think suits Matt to a tee! Stay tuned for Fredric's comic, which will be coming your way tomorrow.
Check out the comic on Speedhunters.

Team Need for Speed headed to Las Vegas for the 2011 SEMA show. Some of the happenings included Vaughn Gittin Jr. driving his Mustang in a few demos while Fredric Aasbo and Matt Powers signed autographs for fans. DJ Miki Taka and Courtney Day were also on hand to answer any questions about the RTR-X.

We've been pretty tight-lipped about the online multiplayer features that you'll see in Need for Speed The Run, but now that it launches in less than two weeks it’s time to put the cards on the table. Check out the new Need for Speed The Run Multiplayer trailer!
When the development team set out to implement online multiplayer in The Run they wanted to create a system where players could easily get together and race. Plain and simple. All you need to do to get into an online race is select a Playlist, find some opponents (always best if it's with Friends), select your car, and start racing. Even if you're late to the party you can still get into a race very quickly with the new "Join Race in Progress" feature. No more waiting for your friends to finish their race; just join and you'll be on the road in seconds.
There is a lot more to online multiplayer in The Run so we're going to be posting up a game designer interview on Saturday where we talk all about the online and we'll give you all a lot more specific information. Stay tuned...
