When we released the Italian Edition Pack for Need for Speed The Run we added more than cars and Challenge Series.  If you purchased the Italian Pack or downloaded the title update released just before it came out then you've got access to six new multiplayer playlists!

- Manufacturer Battles – Race with a single stock car from select manufacturers
- Hazardous Conditions – A collection of races featuring snow, back roads and twisty hills
- Signature Edition Racing – Exclusive races for signature edition cars
- Car Battles – Each session offers a pairing of rival cars
- Technical Challenge – Race the fastest cars on the most technical tracks
- Classic Car Racing – Rip it up with classic cars from The Run

The thing is, we haven't turned them on yet...we want you, the community, to decide which playlist gets turned on first!  Every Tuesday for the next six weeks we're going to let you vote for which play list to activate for the week.  Then, on Friday we'll turn on the playlist just in time for the community gaming session and leave on until the next week's gaming session.

If you want to cast your vote then go to the Need for Speed Facebook page now and select your favorite playlist in the poll.

Please be aware that today (Monday, February 6th) the team will be implementing an update to the SHIFT 2 UNLEASHED servers.  As a result of this update, players will NO LONGER BE ABLE TO CHANGE THEIR EA ACCOUNT PASSWORD FROM WITHIN SHIFT 2 UNLEASHED.

If you do attempt to change your password from within the game you'll receive an error message stating that the new password is invalid.  For PC players specifically, if they change their password outside of the game (through Origin, for example) they will not be able to log into Autolog, or in extreme cases will have to delete their save game files in order to connect to Autolog.

If you experience any issues with your password in SHIFT 2 UNLEASHED, please contact EA Customer Support.

The seventh Need for Speed The Run Time Attack community challenge has begun!

This is a weekly challenge where we put the community's driving skills to the test by challenging everyone to beat our times in a Challenge Series event. NFSDrew laid down another platinum time so once again it's going to take some skill to beat his time of 1:25.03 in the Outrun event in the Nevada Dreams Challenge Series

Here's how to enter this challenge:
1. Beat NFSDrew's time in the same Challenge Series event
2. Grab a picture of your race time on the post-race screen
3. Twitpic it to @NeedForSpeed with the hashtag #NFSTheRunTimeAttack

(We'll also take video entries; just be sure to submit your video as a response to our Time Attack video on YouTube)

At the end of the week we'll randomly draw from the pool of all entries one lucky winner who will receive a very cool prize from the Need for Speed swag cabinet!

A couple of rules you need to be aware of:
- There are no regional restrictions for this challenge. Anybody anywhere in the world can enter!
- This competition is open to all platforms.
- You can use any car available in the Challenge Series event
- Your twitpic and/or video must clearly display your race time. If we can't read it, it won't be considered a valid entry
- If you do choose to submit via YouTube video, it must be submitted as a response to our video
- Use of cheat programs or trainers is prohibited
- A player can only win one week in a row

Bring it on!

The start of 2012 has been incredible and in only a few days, we will be welcoming February - doesn’t it feel like New Year’s was just yesterday?

With all the community challenges in full-swing, there are tons of opportunities for you to showcase your skills, creativity and most importantly…win cool prizes and swag!

If you’re up for the challenge, here are all the details:

Photo Mode - Don’t say we didn’t warn you about ‘Easter Eggs’ in The Run (remember the Pterodactyl/Pteranodon in Stage 6?) Now it’s time to find the crashed UFO and snap a photo of it! There are a few more days to get your entries in (@NeedForSpeed + hashtag #NFSTheRun_Photos) and you can find all the details and hints to its whereabouts HERE!

Time Attack – Last week we posted NFSDrew’s time on the Ascension event in the Winter Blast Challenge Series.  If you can do better than 2:50.80, send us your time (@NeedForSpeed + hashtag #NFSTheRunTimeAttack). We’re accepting entries for one more week!

Caption Challenge – Today we posted a photo of Jack jumping roof tops in The Run. Any guesses as to what Jack was saying or thinking? Post your captions in this thread and you could win yourself a code!

NFSWorld had an exciting week with more cool cars joining the line-up. Please give a warm welcome to the Pagani Zonda F the Porsche Carrera RSR 3.0. and the Lotus Evora Cop! Also, the Lamborghini Murcielago LP 640 is now available for In Game Cash.

And don’t miss NFSWorld’s weekly specials: Mega Monday, Wicked Wednesday, Tweet It Up, Fun Friday and Community Spotlight. Yeah, we like alliterations ;)

What do you think Jack was saying or thinking as he jumped from roof to roof to get away from the cops?

Could it be, “Man I’m glad I took long-jumping at school” or “This sure looks cooler in the movies than in real-life”

Share your ideas and creative quotes in the comments section of our Facebook post. Those who post the most unique or funny captions could win a CODE!

Please be mindful of the house rules. Just be cool and have fun as we will not tolerate spamming, inappropriate content, offensive statements or comments that violate the house rules.

Let the laughs and smiles begin!

The Run has been invaded by extraterrestrial visitors! But don’t worry, they come in peace.

Actually, the UFO has crashed somewhere in The Run and we want to see if you can find it! If you do, then send your photo to us for this week’s Photo Mode Challenge!

We’ll be dropping hints on our Twitter page all throughout the week.

Hint #1 -  It’s located somewhere in STAGE 3 of the career mode in The Run.
Hint #2 - The race is called "Panamint Valley (Death Valley National Park)" in Stage 3.

If you manage to spot the UFO, enter our Photo Challenge by following these steps:
1. Take a cool picture in Photo Mode
2. Download the photos from your Autolog Gallery on the web and Facebook app
3. Twitpic it to @NeedForSpeed with the hashtag #NFSTheRun_Photos

Remember, these photos will be posted in albums on our Facebook page for the public to vote for their favorite. The more creative and fun the pic...the better!

We will accept photo entries until Sunday Jan 29th. Good luck and happy UFO hunting!

It looks like we have a winner to the question, “What’s your favorite Need for Speed?”

For the past few weeks, we’ve been posting polls to Facebook, narrowing down the results. Our final vote this week came down to Underground 2 and Most Wanted.

Guess which one you guys wanted most? (See what I did there?)

After 2 weeks of having the NFS Edition Showdown Pt.2 Time Attack up, it’s time we switched things up. Check out the brand new Time Attack challenge on the Ascension event in the Winter Blast Challenge Series! NFSDrew shows off his skills and gives some great tips on how to master this icy event!

On Tuesday, we posted a video of the ultimate drag race. Eleven of the most glamorous super cars took to an empty airstrip and waited for the green flag. If you don’t know who won, you have to watch this video.

Jiggsy posted his video of the NFS The Run launch in Australia. Those Aussie’s definitely know how to party.

A special shoutout to YouTube user R3ny3au (Ramon) who created an incredible SHIFT 2 video, including some of the finest vinyl work we’ve ever seen!

There were also some Dr Pepper codes given away, allowing you to have some great exclusive content in The Run. Congrats to those that got the codes!

In Need for Speed World, Drew and Marc put up another episode of Ask Marc. Take a look if your questions were answered.

The Lexus LFA is here to stay in World, and Tweet it Up Thursdays would give you a chance to get the beautiful Snowflake 2.0 car.

The Podcast this week was a turning point for Coulter, as he finally ate a food he considers gross. Then pocketed $100. The episode is now up on iTunes, our RSS feed.

It’s Friday and that only means one thing, it’s time for our Friday Gaming Session!

NFSDrew is hopping online to race with the community from 3pm to 4pm (PST); NFSCoulter will be online later in the evening. NFSDrew and NFSCoulter play on both Xbox and PS3, feel free to add either of them to your friends list and tests your skills against some of the best racers (at least, they think they are!)

Good luck!
