PAX Is A Cool Gaming Event

If a choice had to be made on which gaming genre we would pick to play for the rest of our lives, driving would be a front runner for a lot of NFS fans, but being realistic, I'm willing to bet a lot of money that most NFS fans simply love video games in general. For that reason I wanted to give all those that couldn’t make it out to PAX an idea of what the showroom floor looks like! As you know, PAX is a pretty big deal, so a lot of different games show up here, so here's a peek at what's around.

Of course I had to lead with someone playing Need for Speed Hot Pursuit. It was a popular stop yesterday because of the double punch: A cool game with a MASSIVE TV to play it on.

Next up is a personal favourite franchise of mine: Dragon Age. The sequel is here at page, cleverly named Dragon Age II.

Now, maybe you guys can speak to this a lot more than I can, but I came across Epic Mickey yesterday, which seems like a darker version of the loveable Mickey Mouse. Anyone know any more about this? Regardless, I love it!

Oh yes, the movie most of us have been waiting for, Tron Legacy.

And finally, I just thought that Brink's signage was quite cool.

Well, that's just a small taste of what PAX has to offer this year. I wish that all of you could be here. Either way, have a great PAX weekend!

PAX PS3 Giveaway!

It’s about that time again – we’ve got a big thing going on in Seattle right now, so it’s about time we pass out some hardware!

Much like Need for Speed Hot Pursuit, we’re going back to our roots on this one, yup, all the way back to our roots from a couple of months ago =P All you have to do to qualify is retweet ANY of the tweets we send out this weekend.

There are a few rules (not many):
ONE – It must be a retweet using the old fashioned way, in other words it’s gotta say RT @NeedforSpeed at the front of it
TWO – It must have the hashtags #PAX and #NFSHP in it
THREE – You must be following NeedforSpeed on Twitter
FOUR – The contest ends on the morning of Tuesday, September 7th as Monday is a holiday :)

Need for Speed Hot Pursuit Booth at PAX

For those of you who could not make it, I wanted to give you a glimpse of what the Need for Speed Hot Pursuit booth is looking like this year, you know, before the crowds completely fill the convention center!

Above is the HUGE 103" screen we've got for people to play. If you're one of the first 100 people beat the time we've set for that day then you'll get a limited edition PAX t-shirt, so it's sure to be a hit.

Below, we've got the gaming stations. We've got 8 stations (plus the big screen) set up for people to play Need for Speed Hot Pursuit. It's going to be a busy booth, I gather :)

And finally we've got the Photobooth, which is someone EVERYONE loves :) It's empty now, but we're about 2-3 hours into PAX and I can already tell you that some great photos are being taken! I'll upload some as soon as I can!

Car of the Day - Nissan GT-R SpecV (R35)

Once again, we put it to a vote and the Nissan GT-R SpecV won out. Here's a little bit of info about the Car of the Day.

Mechanics hoping to work on the Nissan GT-R SpecV in Japan need to take special classes specializing in repairing and maintaining the car, as well as being well-versed in circuit racing before they’re allowed to lay a finger on one, so it’s safe to say you’re in good hands.
